On the flip side..: If everyone took care of their teeth there would be no need for implants. Dental offices are small business and seem to do just fine with or without implant care... plenty of other procedures fill the schedule. Dentures provide an alternative to fixed prosthetics.

Dental insurance ?: You are not buying a product but rather a service, knowledge and expertise. A dental implant has the potential to last a lifetime. Ten-year success rates have been reported at 95 % or better. Call your dental insurance and ask if dental implants are a covered procedure.

Dental costs: Patients would not require expensive dental procedures and dentists would have a very difficult time earning an income if most individuals brushed and flossed properly every day, watched their intake of cavity producing foods and liquids and finally went for routine dental check ups and cleanings and followed the advice of their dentists. Dentist try to save patients money and should be thanked.

Not exactly: Implants are hands down the very best long-term restorative option available today. They restore function, appearance, and help maintain bone. Are they costly - Yes. Are they an investment in your health, self image and self esteem, appearance and function - yes. Depending on where you live they can be over-priced --like any other commodity. Consider the training required to be licensed/qualified.
