Too young for benadr: Cannot say accurately about amoxicillin without knowing concentration. Child too young for benadryl (diphenhydramine).

NO it is not OK: Speak to his pediatrician , need to be checked first for diagnosis and will decide what medication is needed , and the dose .

Why: Colds and coughs are usually only viruses and never benefit from antibiotics. If it is left over from some other illness, it has expired anyway (does so 2 wks after mixed up with water). Best call the kids doc/clinic and see what they recommend after reviewing his chart.
