Slow Return.: The swelling you describe can be very puzzling, in that it is occurring in only one hand. The most probable reason is that fluid is having a difficult time leaving the hand area. This impeded return flow can be due to many things including both the veins and lymph vessels. A history of trauma to the arm is also a consideration. A thorough hands on evaluation is undoubtedly the best way to go.
