Related to thyroid : The association between thyroid disease and swelling or puffiness in the hands is common. Often, especially with underactive thyroids, there may be swelling or puffiness in the hands. Also, one may develop carpal tunnel syndrome with hypothyroidism wjhich can cause hand swellling and tingling.
