Molar pulled and no bone grafting material placed since it would not hold. why didn't the periodontist rebuild the buccal wall that collapsed?

Ask the periodontist: It is so difficult to guess what your provider was contemplating during the procedure. Maxillary tooth? Mandibular tooth? Infection present? The periodontist may have felt that it would be better to rebuild the area at a later date. Best bet is to discuss your concerns with them.

InflammatoryProcess: In some cases it is better to wait to do the bone graft until after the extraction site heals. The main contraindication for bone augmentation during the removal of teeth is an inflammatory process.
