Could be reflux: The z line is where the esophagus and stomach usually meet. 42 cm is fairly normal for that (measuring from the front teeth). When the z line is irregular, it may suggest that you have some acid reflux damage going on.

Not to worry: Z line is demarcation between esophageal lining (pale) and stomach lining (salmon pink color). 42 cm from incisors (teeth) is in normal range (can depend on your height); irregular z line sometimes seen with inflammation in esophagus. Call md to follow up on results, and if biopsy done (biopsy doesn't mean cancer-means tissue sampled to look at under microscope).
