A member asked:

A pet scan with contrast shows changes at the molecular level. so, why is it that a lesion larger than 2 cm's did not show up at all on a ct?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Glucose: A PET scan actually shows changes due to sugar uptake. So if a "lesion" does not "eat sugar," it won't be seen at PET.
