Common: Utis are common in females after sex. The urethra (where urine comes out) is very close to the vagina's opening. We all have bacteria on our skin and having sex can push that bacteria into the urethra. Female urethras are very short and bacteria can easily travel up it into the bladder causing a uti. It is often suggested to urinate after sex to help wash bacteria out of the urethra.

Yes: If you get them repeatedly after csxn, you may benefit from antibiotic one dose post sex. Also try and urinate after intercourse.

Recurrent UTIs: Some women are predisposed to utis despite having no anatomical or functional voiding problems. These women likely have urothelium which express properties which make it easier for bacteria to persist within the urinary tract. Some women are treated with prophylactic antibiotic prior to intercourse, others take Hiprex twice daily along with vitamin c. Ask you doctor about these options.
