Birth Control: and Antibiotics. Although there is a theoretical increased risk of decreased effectiveness of oral contraceptives and we always recommend a second method of birth control when they are used. It is a very rare event. So yes you should be okay. If you miss your period or are concerned you can always do a home pregnancy test. This issue is not an old wife's tale as some have claimed.
