Get examined: and additionally x-rays and pulmonary function testing to rule out intrinsic lung disease, asthma, or allergies. Several years of daily cough is ominous- call for an appointment today.

Chronic Cough: Chronic cough is most commonly due to 3 conditions: asthma, post-nasal drip, or GERD (heartburn). You might have one or a combination of all three. Further workup by Allergist is helpful as they can perform a more detailed assessment including skin testing, pulmonary function testing, and chest x-ray. Treatment will depend on cause.
