See below: An acute cough productive of green/yellow sputum, accompanied by a sore throat and/or nasal congestion is usually due to acute viral bronchitis which is part of a common cold, doesn't respond to antibiotics, and resolves on its own in several weeks. **Symptoms of Pneumonia: feeling very ill, high fever,shortness of breath, chest pain> see a physician asap! Needs antibiotics.
