Hmmm . . . . : Most true sociopaths (sometimes used synonymously with antisocial personality disorder) do not feel they need help. There must be reasons you're wondering about this in yourself. Personally discussing your concerns with a psychologist or adolescent psychiatrist (your question says you're 16) would give you the most reliable answers. It's not such an easy diagnosis to make, and lots is involved.

Agree with Dr. Papas: I will additionally add that wanting help and needing help are not the same thing. You can easily need it but not want it. This is a tough question. However, the fact that you are worried about the answer is a positive factor in your favor. If you don't want to talk to your parents, consider talking to a trusted guidance counselor or clergyman who will respect your confidentiality.

Antisocial: The modern clinical term for sociopathy is antisocial personality disorder. The hallmark of this disorder is the person seems to have no conscience, or sense of morality, or right or wrong. This person cannot empathize with others, is opportunistic, predatory, and often thrill seeking. An example of this would be Charles Manson.
