It turns out: .. .that leaving your contact lenses in overnight can potentially lead to some serious complications, due in large part to the close and constant contact that the lens makes with the cornea (the clear, outermost layer of your eye). If you frequently leave your lenses in overnight your eyes are never given the opportunity to “breathe”

Contacts: Your contacts, their care, or the solution can be potential contributors to your eye redness in the morning. Are you wearing you contacts at night? discuss with your optometrist or ophthalmologist to see if changing your contacts or solution should be changed. Make sure you are following instructions on wearing your contacts exactly as directed. There are also other causes for red eyes.
