Bright red blood: the implication of bright red blood is that it did not spend a long time traversing your intestinal tract. You almost certainly have a hemorrhoid or two which is intermittently bleeding, If you are constipated try to modify your diet. If it hurts see a colorectal surgeon who will tie it off. See colon/rectal MD: the most likely cause of bright red blood with bowel movement is hemorrhoids, could also be anal fissure. Need to see Colon/Rectal surgeon for further evaluation/exam and likely treatment. Unlikely to be cancer at 38 yo, but absolutely must see MD who can do anoscopy and possibly colonoscopy for full evaluation and then definitive treatment. Most likely it's...: ...a bleeding hemorrhoid, an engorged vein in the rectum that can tear during a bowel movement. I have two concerns. One is that, while it's unusual to lose a significant amount of blood from hemorrhoids, if this continues unabated, it could lead to a fair amount of blood loss. The other is that this is a diagnosis based on probability, not certainty. You need to see a doctor about this
