See your physician: Generally the injury you describe is compatible with a sprain or possibly a fracture of the toe. A fracture of just the toe is often treated with ice, elevation and Tylenol (acetaminophen). Buddy taping the toe to the next toe may help. If the fracture involves the metatarsal bone may need a cast. Unable to give specific advice without examining the toe. An x-ray will tell if there is a fracture.
