Serious implications: Calcification in thyroid gland needs investigation , as most of thyroid calcifications are associated with thyroid cancers , like punctate calcifications , calcification in thyroid nodule etc You need to see your doctor , benign calcium deposits are possible

Thyroid calcium: Calcification (or calcium deposits) in the thyroid are common. When they are large, they are benign. When they are very small (microcalcifications) they are associated with papillary thyroid cancer.
