I wanted to test for h pylori and was given a stool test. i read there are breath tests. why was i not given the breath test? (seems easier)

Easier 4 you: The breath test costs twice as much as the stool test and the blood test even more. The breath test is newer and may not be available where you were tested but most likely, whoever is paying for your test decided it wasn't worth the extra expense.

A lot of times the: Type of test offered is dependent on what's available and how much it might cost a patient. Remember you can always ask your doctor if the breath test is a possibility.
