Yes: At one year, they are still developing their primitive cognitive skills. They are learning to speak beyond 4-6 words, word associations like names of people etc. As long as his physical milestones, like walking etc are also normal, I will be content with him being checked by his pediatrician at the recommended checkup times at 12, 15 and 18 months.
