Watered down Answer.: There are various ways to look at this. Water before and after should be sufficient to deal with the hydration issue. Hydrating during exercise uses valuable energy to absorb the water through the gut and thus reducing energy to the muscles target in the workout. Of course this is all predicated on your fitness level, temperature, humidity and various other parameters.
