Cyst vs lymph node: Cysts can clog up and painlessly enlarge then regress. If they become infected, they'll become painful. Outer ear infections can lead to swollen lymph nodes which can also be painful. If lump doesn't resolve in a few days w/warm compresses, see your Family Doc for diagnosis & treatment.
