Skin cyst: The first thing that comes to mind is an infected sebaceous cyst. You can get one of these cysts to form and it can later become infected, resulting in some swelling, redness and tenderness. Sometimes they need to be drained, so you might want to get it checked out if it doesn't resolve on its own soon.
