A member asked:

I had a fna of a nodule in my thyroid on monday. i am experiencing pressure/fullness, dry throat ans difficulty swallowing is this normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: If a solitary nodule can be palpated in the thyroid, is proven to be solitary on scan and is cold, there is a possibility it is an adenoma that has a 30% chance of converting. FNA does not always guarantee correct dx and if the needle hits the thyroid vessels it can result in a local hematoma intitiating the symptoms you have.
