Can gastritis cause cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gastritis and Cancer: Several types of gastric cancer are closely related to infection with helicobacter pylori, which typically causes a chronic gastritis. Also, patients with autoimmune gastritis may develop a type of metaplasia that is a step towards cancer as well. So taking care to have dyspepsia or stomach pains evaluated is a good idea.
