STREP THROAT: STREP THROAT needs to be treated, to prevent Rheumatic Fever. If you have Penicillin allergy, Biaxin (clarithromycin) or azithromycin will work. PLEASE GET ANTIBIOTIC THERAPY.

Depends: Since you seem to be self diagnosed, several possibilities, Most sore throats, including strep, will feel better in a few days without treatment. If strep, untreated disease will stimulate your immune system, and you have about 1/200 chance of developing heart,brain or kidney problems that could disable you for a lifetime. It happens in the third world. Make your own choice and accept the risk
