A member asked:

Can doxycycline cause pericoronitis ? 4 times this has flared up after finishing a course of this antibiotic so wondering if there is a link.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pericoronitis: Pericoronitis is inflammation of gum tissue around crown of a tooth. Antibiotic will not cure, only control for as long as you take the antibiotic. Please see Oral Surgeon to determine if gum tissue needs reshaping, tooth needs removal, or other course of treatment.
