It depends: It depends on what she cooks, how she freezes it, and how soon she thaws & uses it. Dormitory food can be full of unhealthy (trans) fats, salt, and sugar -- can make you feel bad and cause weight gain. Maybe your friend wants to be sure of the ingredients in her food. Could also be avoiding certain foods (gluten, soy, dairy, etc). Cooking a lot & saving in meal-size portions can save time.
