It needs to be seen: At 9 years old your son should not have any "black" on his teeth, and he should have already established a healthy regimen of brushing, flossing, and seeing his dentist at least twice a year. Now is the time to call for an appointment.

Black on tooth: More than likely it's either stain or a cavity. When was his last dental check-up? He should be seen every six months by a dentist. Set up an appointment to determine what it is and what treatment, if any is needed. Don't wait until it gets worse.

Black spot: Most common causes are tooth decay (infection) or surface stain. Please make appointment with Dentist immediately to diagnose and treat before it gets out of hand. Ask Dentist to review diet and oral hygiene as obviously current status is compromised. Once all issues are addressed, make sure to be seen every 6 months for regular professional care.
