A member asked:

Will acute or past infection of aids/hiv be detected by an hiv 1/2 ag/ab 4th gen/rfl blood test?

Yes, in time: Each of the tests for HIV have lag time from the time of infection to positivity. HIV nucleic acid is first to turn positive and a negative results at three months after exposure essentially rules out HIV. 4th gen tests are also generally positive by 6-12 weeks. Antibody test may occasionally take a year to turn positive.

Yes: If your last exposure was more than about a month ago. Whatever the result, love safely and live carefully from now on, and be a gentleman.
