Wax dosnt cause pain: Cerumen (ear wax) impaction can cause decreased hearing, but should not cause pain. Scratching or irritating your ear canal or perforating your ear drum trying to remove ear wax by inserting something into your ear is a common cause of pain. Alternatively ,you may have an outer ear infection with swelling/inflammation of your ear canal. Have clinician look in your ear asap. Take care!
