Yes: It's totally safe to take more, in fact it'd be OK to take another 0.5 mg as when you wrote it had been almost 8 hours since your last dose. Please let the doctor who prescribed it know how much you need to control symptoms. Also try meditation, exercise, a good multivit (ideally with L-5-MTHF form of folate), magnesium taurate or glycinate, herbs like ashwagandha/tulsi tea & consider counseling.

It would be safe to take another .25 7 hours after the .5. Do report to the prescriber that you are actually awakening with anxiety attacks. Another treatment may be better for you.
