Yes: The dose will not be harmful. Best of luck with your anxiety. You might try a stress APP. I hope you are seeing a counsellor. All the best.

Yes: It's totally safe to take more, in fact it'd be OK to take another 0.5 mg as when you wrote it had been almost 8 hours since your last dose. Please let the doctor who prescribed it know how much you need to control symptoms. Also try meditation, exercise, a good multivit (ideally with L-5-MTHF form of folate), magnesium taurate or glycinate, herbs like ashwagandha/tulsi tea & consider counseling.

Therapy?: Have you yet tried any form of psychotherapy? Typically, the optimal combination of things to treat emotional issues such as anxiety or depression is medication (which, on your best day, is supposed to take the edge off symptoms) but the real gruntwork takes place in psychotherapist's consulting room.

Severe Anxiety: I feel empathy for your anxiety Of course, you are concerned waking up with anxiety attack in the middle of night. You deserve relief. The effect of Ativan (lorazepam) lasts for 6 hours. It is ok to take Ativan (lorazepam) 0.5mg now. See a Psychiatrist for medication and Therapy for understanding stressors in your life and how to cope with them. Use Breathing Relaxation, Visual imagery, Tai Chi, Yoga, and Meditation
