Pretty farfetched.: Amebic meningoencephalitis is very rare (300 cases in last 50 years.) Exposures are common. The scenario you describe is possible but highly unlikely. Your chances of being struck by lightening are much higher. Thanks for trusting HealthTap!

N. fowleri: There has only been ONE case-report of Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis caused by Naegleria fowleri in the state of Mississippi from 1962 to 2016. The chance of getting PAM would be very, very, very low.
