A member asked:

Omg hey so what would it mean if my ast was 83 and alt was 151 and alkaline phosphate was 152?

Liver irritation: These numbers mean that you have sustained some sort of liver irritation. You need to be tested for viral forms of hepatitis. Until you know the cause of these elevations you need to avoid all alcohol and acetaminophen. See your doctor soon for further testing to determine the cause.

OMG, Josh!: I'm not worried about your alk phos especially if it was taken non-fasting. Your AST and ALT need to be evaluated. Maybe we can check them again in two weeks off alcohol and meds (including ibuprofen). If they're still up, you'll get a workup for hepatitis, hemochromatosis, Wilson's, autoimmune hepatitis and a few others.
