Efficient: He might be very efficient and gets all the milk he needs in that timeframe. Is he growing? Has he doubled his birthweight? What does the pediatrician think about his growtih? If growth is good do not worry

Breast feeding: It is ok to suppliment breast feeding with formula, you can also pump your breast milk & freeze it to use when needed in a bottle. Good luck & enjoy your bundle of joy.
