A member asked:

Why doesn't my doctor check my insulin? i feel like something is not right and she insists i am pre-diabetic but the test is not needed so why not?

You can tell: in prediabetic they have plenty of insulin without checking. No need to look at it . The problem is the resistance on the cell surface to insulin so sugar can not be pushed in to obtain energy. Diet and exercise are advised to break this resistance to insulin.

Insulin: If you don't have diabetes why do you need to have insulin measured? I have never fully understood the term "pre-diabetic". Either you have diabetes or you don't.
