I need a eye tooth pulled because infection is this dangerious?

No: Infected eye teeth (canines or cuspids) can be a painful and serious problem if untreated. If root canal therapy is not an option, and an extraction is indicated, you should have it removed. The risk of an untreated infection with the tooth has more associated risks generally than having the tooth removed.

Definitely, no: Your dentist will remove the eye tooth and drain the abscess to eliminate the infection. Tooth extraction and cleaning the affected area will allow the wound to heal fast.
