Need an exam: Lymph node enlargement(lymphadenopathy) is often due to a recent infection and sometimes underlying malignancy, or other disorders. If the lymph nodes have been present for a long time without enlarging in size there is less chance of malignancy. It would be best to have your physician examen you. He or she may decide to watch the nodes for a while or possibly order a lymph node biopsy.
