About a month ago i sprained my ankle.(it was self diagnosed) it got swollen but there were no bruises. now,it's still swollen. is there a reason why?

ANKLE SPRAIN: IT MAY BE MORE THAN AN ANKLE SPRAIN! IT COULD BE A FRACTURE OR A LIGAMENT OR A TENDON TEAR (TENDONITIS). SEE YOUR PCP WHO MIGHT REFER YOU TO PHYSICAL THERAPIST FOR EXERCISES THAT WILL PROVE BENEFICIAL. BEST LUCK!

Self Diagnosing.: The problem with self diagnosing is that there is a good chance that your diagnosis may not be totally consistent with the injury. This could lead to under estimating the true nature of the problem. This will lead to under to estimating the best treatment for the injury and possibly increasing the healing time.
