Provera (medroxyprogesterone): is a progesterone, a female hormone. No you should not be taking it except under the direction of a physician. And then only after an evaluation has determined the reason for your menstrual irregularities, this being the appropriate treatment.

No: If you are referring to Provera (medroxyprogesterone) an injectable medication used as a contraceptive drug it is not a good idea to use it for irregular periods. It has many side effects. If you refer to "imbalance period" as irregular periods you need to consult with your gynecologist as to cause and proper treatment.
