Probably: Provera (medroxyprogesterone) is a synthetic progesterone. The withdrawal of the Progesterone is what causes the bleeding and the sloughing of the lining. This is done a lot to help women get more predictable cycles. A little tidbit......If you are trying to get pregnant, the doctor should be using progesterone, not Provera (medroxyprogesterone) to cause the cycle.
