Can be painful: Just presence of nephrostomy tube can cause pain, especially if it was recently placed. Failure of tube to drain properly as result of tube migration, blockage or partial blockage cab be painful. We usually preform stone removal same day as nephrostomy tube placement & hardly ever later than next day. Is there some kind of scheduling problem or was tube placed for other reasons that stone removal?
