A member asked:

Have a nephrostomy tube. the doctor wants to do a test in the tube to see if i have a blockage. what is the test called?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dye: I believe that a dye(contrast) will be injected into the nephrostomy tube and then images will be taken to see if there is a blocked tube and,if possible,to outline kidney structures(nephrogram or pylegram). Your urologist is best qualified to explain the procedure and inform you of the information that is to be obtained.
