Very probably: Obstetrician/gynecologists are trained in detecting enlargements of the uterus, and an 8 to 9 week pregnancy should clearly be detected. HOWEVER, this is highly influenced by the body mass of the woman. If a woman is obese the ability of the obstetrician to accurately feel down to the uterus is compromised. The most reliable exams in this setting is a blood pregnancy test and/or ultrasound.
