Yes: Each doctor is a little different. In general, the doctor should not do anything you don't want the doctor to do. Please understand that any time you limit what a doctor can do, you also limit that doctors ability to know you and your medical needs.

Depends: The most important part of the first visit is developing a good rapport with your OB doc and perhaps an ultrasound examination. Discuss with the doctor how you feel and your anxiety about a pelvic exam. Compassionate doctors will understand and delay a pelvic for a subsequent visit. They will also address issues about how you feel and why. Helping you with this anxiety is part of being your doctor

Yes.: You are ALWAYS in control of your own body. A doctor can't do anything to a competent adult without consent. I can't predict how your doctor will react, so, if you tell her why you don't want a pelvic exam, perhaps you can reach a compromise.
