BRBPR: BRBPR= Bright red blood per rectum. Top causes are hemorrhoids and anal fissures. You need a full exam and rectal exam to make diagnosis. Lab work may be needed to Check for anemIa. If you still have symptoms stool cultures and a repeat colonoscopy or bleeding scan may be warranted . In the meantime stay well hydrated 64-80 oz water/dy. Blood s/p colonoscop: Did you have the procedure within the last 2 weeks? Sometimes due to procedure trauma there is bleeding. Were polyps removed? hemorrhoids noted ? as can cause bleeding as well. Alsocoumadin, ASA, motrin like products, ginger, ginko Vit E all promote bleeding . Call you doctor today or go to the ER GI bleeding is serious.
