Weight loss and DM: Diabetics are low in certain nutrients necessary for fat burning. Magnesium, Vitamin D, chromium, alpha lipoic acid, and seleniomethionine. Also make sure your thyroid is optimal - in diabetes there are issues with thyroid conversion, so you can not go by TSH alone. You should have your free T3 and reverse T3 checked. I find that I have to keep my free T3 levels above 3-3.2 for my diabetics.
