A member asked:

Can ear wax be so blocked in the inner ear that the ear doctor cannot see it with an otoscope?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Cerumen: Impacted cerumen(ear wax) prevents the examiner from visual zing the ear drum. An otolaryngologist is best consulted who will remove the cerumen by aspiration, curretting or gavage with warm water depending upon his/her judgement.
