I have recently seen some bites on my upper thigh and even a couple on my genital area and they look like small pimples and itchy with redness?

Many possibilities: Any of several skin conditions could cause this. Although people often assume insect bites, it's an uncommon cause. But I do wonder about scabies, or perhaps pubic lice (crabs). Or folliculitis, i.e. hair follicle inflammation, especially if you shave the area. No STD is a likely cause. See a doctor or clinic if more spots keep appearing or if not clearing up in a few days.
