Balance is answer: Red wine is in general a safe occasional part of the human experience. There is evidence that a small dose of this on a regular basis can be protective of heart disease. But, those with some conditions may be harmed by red wine...Those with heartburn or reflux disease may have worsening symptoms. Those with the disease of addiction must remain abstinent from this common form of alcohol.

Wine.: Wine in amounts up to one glass daily, especially red wine, has been shown to have heart benefits. The resveritrol found in red wine is particularly beneficial. However, more than 2.5 glasses/day for a man or 1.5 glasses/day for a woman can lead to cirrhosis. So enjoy, but be careful.
