A member asked:

Would red wine have an adverse effect on a recently pulled jaw tooth?

Not really: As long as it is small amount of wine that is being consumed, you should be fine. Of course alcohol can delay healing so you may want to hold off from alcohol until your socket has healed fully. Be cautious of the interaction of your current medications with the alcohol. Contact your dentist to check.

Medications. : Red wine in itself will not. However, alcohol can interfere or potentiate the effects of medications. Wine shouldn't be mixed with pain medications and can have severely adverse reactions with metronizole and some other antibiotics. , .
