Xanax (alprazolam): Taking Alcohol and Xanax (alprazolam) is not the best thing to do. Also you have the risk of being dependent on xanax (alprazolam) and typically xanax (alprazolam) is not a sleeping aid. Suggest see a Sleep physician, and consider a sleep study as to why you have sleep latency.

Alcohol and xanax (alprazolam): Definitely not. Both can cause Central depression and have been know to cause death. Mixing alcohol with central nervous system depressants is not a great idea or practice.

XANAX (alprazolam) + ALCOHOL: NEVER MIX Xanax (alprazolam) or any benzodiazepine with alcohol. Serious central nervious system depression , or even death may occur. Sadly, I see cases almost daily come thru our ER.
